About Mazaa

Just off Stockport Road in Longsight, this Pakistani spot draws a steady crowd looking for hearty kebabs and traditional dishes served up in a casual, lively setting. The menu centers around rich, meaty options like mixed tikka and doner kebabs, alongside starters that include crispy pakora and succulent lamb chops. While there are some vegetarian choices, it’s the meat selections that tend to attract most visitors.

The atmosphere feels bustling, especially during lunch and dinner hours, with a mix of solo diners and groups dropping by for a quick bite or a late-night meal. The service often moves at a brisk pace, reflecting its popularity, and the friendly staff help keep the mood welcoming despite the usual crowd. The modest, counter-service setup fits well with its casual vibe, although those needing wheelchair accessible facilities might find it limiting.

Those who appreciate generous portions seasoned with authentic spices tend to enjoy the fare here, though some find the heat and sauciness can occasionally be a bit much. The accompanying fresh salads and sauces offer a refreshing balance, and the free street parking nearby is convenient for local visitors. Although there’s no restroom or reservation system, the spot’s lively energy and straightforward approach make it a familiar stop for regulars and tourists alike looking for honest Pakistani flavors in Longsight.

What Locals Say

Such a busy kebab shop compared to the others on this street and I can see why. The mixed tikka kebab was full of meat all cooked very well and full of flavour. The side salad and sauces were very refreshing. The chicken shashlick kebab was very nice and packed a great punch. The only thing I would say was it was too saucy and made the naan soggy towards the end. The staff were so friendly and had great banter, we will be back!

The food was average. I ordered biryani and it was basically pea rice with chicken and a bit old. The mutton curry was also okay, but not worth visiting specifically for it. However, the sauces were good and the packing was professional.

My familia say the food is quite tasty and well cooked (as images show)... What frustrates them is (at times) the food may be a little too spicy than expected/portion size is not enough/even a bit burnt. Mr Shahid (the owner) has great customer service and customer relation skills, as do a few of his staff, such as his sidekick - the man who usually manages the phone orders... This place is well run at busy times when Mr Shahid is there..Because he makes sure that orders are sent out/made on time. This diner is always kept clean and tidy whenever I pop in. Mazaa also has delivery service (with deliveroo and Uber Eats). This is quite useful as it saves us a deal of time if we decide to order online. My review had gone down to 3 stars because in the past we had ordered a portion of chicken and chanaa daal but instead we only received a portion of chanaa daal which was quite oily to the point that it had spilt through the paper bag.. And, (on another day) we had to wait over an hour for our order - It was only a small order as well.. In the future we will try to order at less busier times, yet that can't always be the case because we only order on weekends. Although, one must consider that staff are sometimes dealing with many orders at one time, and therefore can make a mistake in order thus increase the predicted ready time of the order...

Outstanding food, and just as good as my last visit over 6 years ago 5 stars from me. Update....... It's finally reopened ! And it is just as good as it always has been, ignore the 1 star reviews they are clearly from other businesses in the area who are clearly not as good as Mazza !!

Both curries were very good, lamb kebab was so-so, mint sauce is tasty. Portions are so big. All on the photo cost less then £50: two portions of rice, naan, two curries, chips, salad, samosas

Mazaa offers a down-to-earth dining experience, not your typical fine dining affair but more of a greasy spoon charm. The menu boasts a variety of enticing options at reasonable prices. The chicken and lamb karahi, while good, didn't quite hit the "awesome" mark. However, the mixed grill stole the show with flavorful donner meat and satisfyingly good portions. The lamb chops, albeit slightly overcooked, were still enjoyable without being overly salty. Service left something to be desired as all the food arrived at once, leaving little space on the table. In summary, Mazaa serves up good, hearty fare, though it falls short of reaching culinary greatness.

First time ordering & bought the Mazaa special kebab (chargrilled chicken, kofta, lamb tikka & lamb donner) in a pita bread with salad. A good portion of meat so much so I struggled to eat it all. Good flava overall, the only let down was the lamb tikka being tough / chewy & quite salty.

Food is generally good but absolutely you’ll be absolutely freezing if eating in - there’s no heating in the seating area.
